| Advanced filter method | When the advanced filter method checkbox is checked, the Current Active Filter list
box, and the Filter Database list box become active. To add rules to the current active
filters, select it in the filter database list box, and click on either the Include
button, or the Exclude button that become active between the two list boxes. Clicking
on the Include button adds the filter rule to the active filters as an Include filter.
This means that any files passed by the filter will be included in the file processing
between the host and PC and vice versa. Clicking on the Exclude button adds the filter
rule to the active filters as an Exclude filter. This means that any files passed
by the filter will be Excluded from the file processing between the host and PC and
vice versa.
In the screenshot above, when the filters are applied to the synchronisation process, any files found by the HIGHCHARACTER rule will be excluded, and anything found by the EVERYTHING rule will be included. NB, an exclude rule will always take precedence over any include rule. So although everything is requested in the EVERYTHING rule, the files excluded by the HIGHCHARACTER rule will be excluded. The rules database is maintained from the "Configure advanced filter database" menu item under the Configure option on the main menu. Please refer to the help availabe there for more information on building advanced filter rules. |
