FHREDIR

The FHREDIR option specifies whether a remote server using Fileshare can handle files.

Syntax:

FHREDIR = { ON } { OFF }

Parameters:

ON
Use Fileshare to access files on a remote server.
OFF
Do not use Fileshare.

Properties:

Default: OFF

Comments:

If FHREDIR is set to OFF, the File Handler examines the name at open time to determine whether the file is to be handled locally.

This parameter can be set globally only; that is under the tag [XFH-DEFAULT]. You cannot set the parameter for an individual file.

Take care with this option. If it is in effect when Fileshare is running, Fileshare will attempt to redirect file I/O requests to itself, and this will cause a timeout failure.
