After you create a configuration item, the configuration edit dialog includes the General and Dependencies subpages. If the configuration item is an interface configuration, an additional Generator subpage also appears.

When you select a base template on the General subpage, one additional parameter subpage is inserted after the General subpage for each template part that has parameters. The text defined in the Display text attribute displays on the subpage tab. Template parts without any parameters do not display.

For each parameter of a part, a corresponding parameter line with an information button, a label, an input or selection field, and a use variable field is created. Depending on the parameter type, additional buttons are available.

The appearance and function of each parameter depends on the parameter display type defined in the Display type attribute.
