If either an APPC Transaction Job Name value or an APPC Transaction Job ID value appears in the ##JOB INPUT run-time option, the APPC Transaction Job processes the transaction. It processes together all spool files matching the APPC Transaction Job ID, as well as any other additional filtering parameters, as a “virtual job”.

The APPC Transaction Job performs all functions, such as committing archives, deleting spool files, and printing job-level summary statistics, at a “virtual job” boundary. Note the following:

• You can specify the values of either the APPC Transaction Job Name or the APPC Transaction Job ID, or both, as an asterisk (*). The APPC Transaction Job processes the jobs, but without any filtering for specific APPC Transaction Jobs.

• If you specify either a APPC Transaction Job Name value or a APPC Transaction Job ID value, but not the other value, processing assumes an asterisk for the other value.
