Customizing the Problem/Alert Monitor

Before you can use the Problem/Alert Monitor, you must customize it to indicate the types of alert messages you want it to capture.

The following table lists the screens you can use to customize the Problem/Alert Monitor:

Lets you define the CICS, TMON for CICS TS, and user alert messages you want to collect in the alert message logical file. You also can assign message severity levels on this screen.

TL - Alert Record Collection Options

=10.2 (TL option)

Lets you specify whether you want TMON for CICS TS to collect and log user alert records and the names of the extrapartition transient data queues you want used to capture the records.

Threshold Alerts

=10.3.2

Lets you specify which SmartTargets should generate alerts.

Profiles/Resources Directory

=0.2.4

Lets you select and alter profiles for users to whom you want to assign Problem/Alert Monitor authorization. Cursor-select a user’s profile and enter X in the READ, UPDT, CNTL, or ALTR column for the Problem/Alert Monitor (function PROBALRT). If you enter X in the NONE column, the user will not have authorization to access the Problem/Alert Monitor.
